How are prayer times calculated?
Simple Salah uses your GPS location and your chosen calculation method (e.g. Muslim World League, ISNA, Egyptian) to calculate precise prayer times. All calculations happen on your device.
Why are my prayer times different from another app?
Different apps may use different calculation methods or madhab settings. Go to Settings > Calculation Method to choose the method used in your region. You can also switch between Shafi and Hanafi for Asr timing.
How do widgets work?
After installing the app, long-press your home screen and add the Simple Salah widget. It comes in small, medium, and large sizes, plus lock screen widgets. The widget updates automatically at each prayer time.
Why don't I see widgets on my home screen?
Make sure you have opened the app at least once after installing. Then long-press your home screen, tap the + button, and search for "Simple Salah" to add a widget.
How do streaks work?
A streak day counts when you log all 5 prayers (or the day is excused). You get 2 automatic grace days per month that preserve your streak if you miss a day. We never punish — streaks only reward consistency.
What are Baraka points?
Baraka points are earned for logging prayers. On-time prayers earn 10 points (15 for Fajr), late prayers earn 5, and completing all 5 prayers gives a 20-point bonus. Streak milestones award bonus points.
Can I change the adhan sound?
Yes. Go to Settings > Notifications > Adhan Sound and choose from Makkah, Madinah, Al-Zaili, Omar Hisham, Mevlan Kurtishi, Fajr (Mecca), or Silent.
Is my data backed up?
Currently, all data is stored locally on your device. Cloud sync is coming in a future update. For now, your data is included in your device's iCloud/Google backup.
Does the app work offline?
Yes. Simple Salah works fully offline. Prayer times are calculated on your device using your last known location. No internet connection is required.
How do I report a bug?
